The Digital History Project

Page history last edited by Jefferson County Library 11 years, 7 months ago

The Digital History Project serves the Jefferson County, Florida community by providing digital versions of historical and family documents.  In the next few months, the following items will be added to the project database:

  • Audio clips and transcripts from the original JCPL Oral History Project
  • A digital version of The History of Jefferson County, a book published by the Monticello Women's Club in 1938.
  • Select articles from the Monticello News
  • Maps and photographs
  • Much more!

The DHP is a wiki--a free web site edited by a group of JCPL librarians and historians.  We encourge you to explore our collection and comment on the objects enclosed.   You can also dedicate historical documents--or unaltered digital media (such as photos or mp3s)--to the Digital History Project.   Follow the Preservation & Digitization Guide for best practices in preserving, handling, and digitizing your historical documents. Then request permission to add stories or media to the DHP.
